Connect Basecamp and Dora can look up to-dos and messages in your projects, so what was discussed there reaches the client's request.

    Open Integrations

    In Dora, open Settings and find Basecamp under Integrations, or search for it.

    Sign in to Basecamp

    Choose Connect. Basecamp asks you to sign in and allow access, then sends you back to Dora, connected. There's no key to copy.

    Ask, or tag it

    Ask Dora in her chat or on a request, or type $Basecamp to point her at it.

A few things to ask, and what she does with them.

  • Find the to-dos

    Ask "What's left on Acme's launch to-dos in Basecamp?" Dora lists them with who has each.

  • Bring in the discussion

    Ask "What did the team decide about Halcyon's fonts on the Basecamp message board?" Dora finds the thread and sums it up.

  • Move a project into Dora

    Ask "Open requests for the open Pinewood to-dos in Basecamp." Dora drafts each one for you to approve.

  • Your account, your connection

    You connect Basecamp for yourself. Dora uses it only when you ask, and nobody else on your team can reach your Basecamp through her.

  • Read-only

    Dora only gets the tools Basecamp marks as read-only. She looks things up; she doesn't edit, delete, or send anything in Basecamp.

  • A summary and a link

    She brings in what the task needs, summarized, with a link back to Basecamp, instead of pasting everything into the request.

  • Dora can look up to-dos and messages in your Basecamp projects. You connect your own Basecamp account, and Dora reads from it when you ask: in her chat, on a request, or while you write one. She only reads, and brings back a summary with a link to the source.

  • The projects your Basecamp account can see. She signs in as you, with read-only access.

  • Yes. Add each client in Dora, then ask Dora to open requests from their open Basecamp to-dos. You approve each one before it's created.

  • Open Settings in Dora, find Basecamp under Integrations, and choose Connect. You sign in on Basecamp's own page and allow access, and you're sent back to Dora, connected. There's no API key to copy.

  • Only you. Each person connects their own apps, and Dora uses only the connections of the person asking. If a teammate needs Basecamp too, they connect their own account.

  • Ask in plain words, like "check Basecamp", or type $ and pick Basecamp. It shows as a tag in comments and in Dora's chat, and tells her which app to use for that ask.

  • No. Integrations are on every Dora plan, including your free first client. Asking Dora counts toward your company's Dora allowance like any other ask, and your Basecamp plan is separate.

  • In Dora, open Settings, find Basecamp under Integrations, and choose Disconnect. Dora stops using it right away.
